Just look at the
Russell 2000 Index, which is lower by almost 6.4% this month, a loss that is 135 basis points worse than that of the large-cap S&P 500.
This flight to small caps saw the
Russell 2000 index rise 1.0% Monday to 1,508, a tad below the S&P 500's 1.2% but still better than the 0.96% rise of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
At time of writing the
Russell 2000 (RUT) was set to end the week lower and below the 1500 level, which had previously been support throughout much of the year.
