Hon·o·lu·lu
(hŏn′ə-lo͞o′lo͞o, hō′nō-) The capital and largest city of Hawaii, on the southern coast of Oahu. It grew in the 1800s as a whaling and sandalwood port and as the seat of the royal government. Today the city is a major tourist center.
