The CounterCraft Cyber Deception Platform represents a radical approach to using deception as
cyber counterintelligence. This highly innovative solution challenges traditional network security by allowing attackers to access simulated data in a controlled environment, continuously developed to harness the innovation exhibited by cybercriminals, and used it to better understand their minds and their motives.
From now, the entire domain of
cyber counterintelligence will be transferred to the IDF telecommunications division, while all cyber intelligence gathering will remain the responsibility of Army Intelligence.
The Defense Cyber Crime Center delivers superior digital forensics and multimedia laboratory services, cyber technical training, research, development, testing and evaluation, and cyber analysis capabilities supporting
cyber counterintelligence and counterterrorism, criminal investigations, intrusion forensics, law enforcement, the Intelligence Community, critical infrastructure partners, and information operations for DOD.
Early chapters describe the state of advanced cyber threats, define deception and how deception is used in countering cyber threats, and outline fundamental competencies of
cyber counterintelligence. Later chapters are devoted to host-based and network-based tools, deception technologies, and methods for assessing the network's security.
