The 618th Air and Space Operations Center, or TACC, is the global air operations center responsible for centralized command and control of Air Force and commercial contract air mobility assets, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, II plans, schedules and tracks tanker, airlift and aeromedical evacuation aircraft worldwide.

Aeromedical Evacuation is one of AMC's seven core airlift missions and is a core competency of the Air Force Medical Service.

With more refueling capacity and enhanced capabilities, improved efficiency, and increased capabilities for cargo and aeromedical evacuation, the KC-46A will provide aerial refueling support to the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps as well as allied nation coalition force aircraft.

It is designed to provide aeromedical evacuation for patients with known or suspected exposure to a contagious or infectious disease while protecting the aircraft, aircrew and support personnel.

"I looked down and half my foot was gone," said the 24-year-old Army private "I pulled out my tourniquet and started applying it." His military aeromedical evacuation journey had begun.

Ronald Hall served the wing as a member of the aeromedical evacuation squadron.

The men and women assigned to the control center never touch an aircraft in this assignment, but the majority of them are experienced aircrew members, maintainers, aeromedical evacuation experts and aerial porters.

Adriana Valadez and Senior Airman Amanda Pena--were deployed to the 651st Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Kandahar, and their flight picked up Tech.
