ABN AMRO's Long-Term IDR and senior debt ratings are one notch above the bank's VR because Fitch believes the risk of default on senior obligations, as measured by the Long-Term IDR, is lower than the risk of the bank failing, as measured by its VR.

ABN AMRO Clearing is a global leader in clearing and post-trade services and has a strong client base of active liquidity providers and principal trading groups.

The bank sold 188 million shares at 17.75 euros apiece, equivalent to a 20 per cent stake and valuing ABN Amro at 16.7 billion euros, according to a statement on Friday.
