Functional recovery assessed by the Sciatic Functional Index (SFI) in rats with chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the sciatic nerve that received 2, 4, or 8 intraperitoneal injections of saline or N-acetylcysteine (
NAC; 150 mg * [kg.sup.-1] * [day.sup.-1]) beginning 4 h after CCI.
